The dedicated firefighters of the Le Roy Fire Department serve and protect both the Village and Town of Le Roy in Western NY. Protecting an area of more than 42 square miles with a combined population of just under 8000. The LFD also responds to neighboring towns when they need additional resources.
During the past year firefighters’ responded to over 400 alarms. Countless hours were spent maintaining equipment and keeping the fire station in order. Training and drills total hundreds of hours per year dedicated to the community.
Servicing the NYS Thruway and Routes 5 and 19, the department responds to Motor Vehicle accidents and other traffic incidents. The Oatka Creek runs through town causing occasional flooding and water rescue hazards.
Always ready and able the firefighters are 100% Volunteer.
